The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is an ad-hoc committee to the mayor that serves as an opportunity for students to attend various Township Committee meetings, share ideas in a space where change can be made, and improve their understanding of local government.
Participants are expected to attend one to two designated Township Committee meetings and a YLC meeting each month where they will discuss their thoughts and ideas, and then share information with the community. Students may also seek out volunteer hours through their participation in the council.
Meetings: The Youth Leadership Council generally meets on the second Sunday of the month remotely.
Applications for the 2025 program will open early next year. Please use the below inquiry form if you are interested in learning more about the program.
Membership: Consists of Montgomery resident volunteers, ages 13 to 18, regardless of their enrollment in the Montgomery Township School District, appointed by the Township Committee.
