Human Services

Montgomery Township provides Human Services to improve the quality of life of individuals in our community who are vulnerable, economically disadvantaged, or otherwise in need.

There are several township departments involved in coordinating and administering programs and services to various groups and individuals with limited income and resources. The scope of services includes programs that assist residents in the areas of affordable housing, emergency assistance, food insecurity, health, and the needs of seniors. Projects include affordable housing by the Montgomery Twp. Planning Dept. and a township food pantry, run out of the Otto Kaufman Community Center.

Several staff and departments serve the community as information and referral sources for residents in need of various services. These include our Senior Center/Food Pantry Director and our Food and Safety Coordinator, our Vulnerable Populations Coordinator in the Health Dept., and our Police OEM Officer. Help may also be provided by referral to other agencies, such as Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability. Our dedicated staff are also supported by equally dedicated community volunteers and volunteer groups, such as the Princeton Elks Lodge, The Montgomery / Rocky Hill Rotary Club, faith organizations, and scout groups.
