Trails Day Photos & RecapPosted on June 7, 2019
Montgomery held its second Trails Day on Sat. June 1st at the trails surrounding Stonebridge on Montgomery Road, behind the former 1860s House. Girl Scout Troop 62218 organized a scavenger hunt on the trails and the Van Harlingen Historical Society opened its Farm Museum located in the red barn. Deputy Mayor Catherine Gural led the morning hike and two neighbors, Tania Howard and Anna Mancilla, led a later hike about the native plants along the trail. Open Space Committee Chairman Clem Fiori, Open Space Coordinator Lauren Wasilauski, and Recreation Director Karen Zimmerman were there to answer questions. A table and maps provided all sorts of info about the extensive and beautiful trails system that Montgomery Twp. has developed over many years. Get out and explore! Parks and pathways maps and descriptions may be found on the Montgomery Twp. website under the “About Us” section.
