Rt. 518 Road Work in Rocky Hill This Week

The Somerset County Engineering Department announced the following  road work on Route 518 through Rocky Hill — from Route 206 to the Millstone River Bridge, as well as Young Drive from Washington St. to end.

Milling and Paving Work on Route 518 /Washington Street in Rocky Hill from Route 206 to the bridge over the Millstone River will take place from 9 AM until 4 PM on Tuesday, 10/29 through Thursday, 10/31, according to the Somerset County engineer. The road will be closed during this time. Drivers are advised to choose alternate routes. According to the Somerset County Engineering Road Projects Construction Announcements webpage:

During the construction of (CR518) Washington Street in the Borough of Rocky Hill, there will be a full road closure to all thru traffic with a detour in effect during the working hours of 9:00am-4:00pm.  All residents, businesses, transportation, and emergency vehicles will have access into the work zone during construction but will need to enter traveling from West to East direction from Route 206 toward Kingston Rocky Hill Road.  During this work, all street parking will be strictly prohibited until after construction is completed.  Residents may use borough hall for parking 24/7 during the road work.  Although access will be maintained, there may be construction related delays so please plan accordingly. 

In addition, the Somerset County engineer announced the following Rocky Hill Roads are expected to be milled and paved during the same time frame: Reeve Road (from Crescent Ave to Washington Street/518), Princeton Ave (from Washington Street/518 to the end), and Young Drive (from Washington Street to the end) in Rocky Hill.
