Posted on February 21, 2020

ORGANIC LAWN CARE
Thurs., March 12
6:30 to 8:00 PM

LOCATION
31 Titus Mill Road
Pennington, NJ 08534, US

Want a beautiful property without chemical treatments? Learn from professionals from The Watershed Institute and our friends at SavATree and Jersey-Friendly Yards about how to “green” your property using organic methods.

Everything applied to lawns eventually ends up in local waterways, so it is critical to minimize chemical application on our properties. We’ll talk about reducing synthetic herbicide and pesticide use, restoring green lawns without chemicals, converting lawn to garden, reducing irrigation needs, native plants, composting, and more! An informational presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, so bring your questions about landscaping for a healthy environment!

BUILD YOUR OWN RAIN BARREL
June 6
1:00 – 3:00 PM
LOCATION
31 Titus Mill Road
Pennington, NJ 08534, US
Join the Americorps Watershed Ambassador and staff from The Watershed Institute for a workshop about rainwater harvesting! Come learn about water quality in NJ, how installing a rain barrel helps protect water quality and saves you water at home, and other ‘river-friendly’ actions you can implement at home. In addition to building a rain barrel, attendees will be given instructions for installation, care, and appropriate uses for their rain barrel.
The workshop requires some light use of tools such as drills and screwdrivers, and will be guided by Watershed staff.
$50 registration fee includes all construction materials. The fee is per barrel, so groups of multiple people can build one barrel for $50.
