PUBLIC INPUT SOUGHT FOR TOWNSHIP CANNABIS DECISIONPosted on May 28, 2021
Montgomery Township held a recorded public meeting on May 27th to explain recent New Jersey cannabis legislation and to continue seeking public input prior to the Township Committee making a decision about cannabis businesses.
Under state law adopted in February, all municipalities must act by August 21 if they wish to limit or prohibit any of five types of cannabis businesses within their towns: cultivation, manufacture, wholesale, distribution, and retail.
The Montgomery Township Committee continues to gather public input in advance of its decision. Regardless of the local decision, state law will permit the use and home delivery of cannabis products throughout the state, including in Montgomery.
Other opportunities to provide public input include the public comment period in regularly scheduled Township Committee meetings, the next being on June 3, or to send an email with input to firstname.lastname@example.org.
