Montgomery Twp. Police Dept. Press Release
Date: 1/25/19

The Montgomery Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying the actor in an attempted burglary.  On 01/16/2019 MTPD responded to a residential burglary on Copper Vail Court.  The victim advised she awoke in the morning and found her rear sliding glass door open.  Upon further investigation she noticed two of her purses were missing from the room.  MTPD conducted a canvas of the neighborhood which lead to the discovery of the attached video from a neighboring residence.  The video depicts an unknown male approach the neighboring residence at approximately 0317 hours.  The male peers into the residence through the rear sliding door, illuminates the room with a flashlight and then walks away.

Over the past few months MTPD has taken several burglary reports fitting the same M.O. where an unknown actor enters the residence either through an unlocked door or 1st or 2nd story window.  MTPD would like to remind residents to make sure they lock their doors and windows, close their garage doors, set their residential alarms and keep items of value out of plain view.

MTPD would also ask that residents review their surveillance system videos and report any suspicious incidents.

As always MTPD would also like to remind residents to lock their vehicles, never leave a key fob in a vehicle and take their personal items such as purses and electronics with them.

Please contact the MTPD Detective Bureau with any questions or concerns.

Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
