Travel Advisory List Updated to 22 States
New Jersey Adds Four New States, Removes Delaware
To save lives and prevent the spread of COVID-19, New Jersey has issued an incoming travel advisory that all individuals entering New Jersey from states with a significant spread of COVID-19 should quarantine for 14-days after leaving that state. This includes travel by train, bus, car, plane and any other method of transportation.
As of Tuesday, July 14, there are currently 22 states that meet the criteria stated above:
Alabama (added 6/24/20), Arkansas (6/24/20), Arizona (6/24/20), California (6/30/20), Florida (6/24/20), Georgia (6/30/20), Iowa (6/30/20) Idaho (6/30/20), Kansas (7/7/20), Louisiana (6/30/20), Minnesota (7/14/20), Mississippi (6/30/20), North Carolina (6/24/20), Nevada (6/30/20), New Mexico (7/14/20),Ohio (7/14/20), Oklahoma (7/7/20), South Carolina (6/24/20), Tennessee (6/30/20), Texas (6/24/20), Utah (6/24/20), and Wisconsin (7/14/20).
Note: Delaware was removed from the list on 7/14/20

Next HOUSEHOLD HAZ WASTE Drop Date 7-25
When: Sat, July 25, 9am – 2pm

The Somerset County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program gives residents and farmers a legal and cost-free way to dispose of unwanted household items that cannot be disposed of in the regular trash. This drop-off opportunity is for residents only. No registration is necessary, but proof of Somerset County residency is required.
Adherence to social distancing guidelines is required. Residents must wear gloves and facial coverings, stay in their vehicles with the windows rolled up and store hazardous materials in trunks or truck beds.
Mark your calendar and clear out your garage, shed or basement of old cleaners, yard and lawn pesticides, oils, oil-based paints, and other materials. Please read list below. After July 25th, there are only two more events scheduled this year from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Household hazardous waste includes banned or outdated pesticides, antifreeze, transmission fluid, brake fluids, wet-cell car batteries, motor oil (2-gallon maximum), used oil filters, fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lights, ammonia-based cleaners, gasoline, kerosene, mercury switches, mercury, helium balloon tanks, fire extinguishers, used cooking oil, oil-based paints, pool chemicals, barbecue propane tanks
and rechargeable and button-cell batteries.
DO NOT drop off tires, or electronics (computers and televisions), infectious waste, gas cylinders, or smoke detectors. Air conditioners and dehumidifiers will NOT be accepted. No commercial vehicles are allowed.

Not everyone may have had a chance yet to stop over to The Grove at Montgomery, our newest shopping center at Rt. 206 and Belle Mead-Griggstown Rd. It is a convenient spot that features a great selection of retail shops and eateries in an attractive, upscale setting. You can even grab a bite to go at the Grove and walk over to the Montgomery Dog Park behind it or even take a walk from there on the wooded municipal trail out to Montgomery Veterans Park and back.
