Bus service between Montgomery Township and New York City will begin March 5th.
Suburban Transit/Coach USA will expand its direct Hillsborough to New York City bus service with two morning and two evening buses between Pike Run and Manhattan.
The buses will leave Pike Run Clubhouse at 5:50 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. and arrive at 42nd St. and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan at, respectively, 7:15 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.
The buses will also stop at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue, 42nd Street and Third Avenue, and the United Nations.
The two evening rush-hour buses, which will start their run at the United Nations, will leave 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue at 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., arriving at Pike Run at 6:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.
The buses currently stop at the Hillsborough Promenade on Route 206 (Kohls) before going directly to Manhattan. There are four morning and four afternoon buses between Manhattan and Hillsborough.
One-way fare from Montgomery to Manhattan will be $16, with a 10-trip package costing $130 and a monthly pass will be $440. Senior citizens, with valid identification, qualify for a half-fare.
Suburban Transit/Coach USA also operates direct bus service from Bridgewater to Manhattan. The one daily bus leaves the park-and-ride lot at the intersection of Route 22 and Milltown Road at 7 a.m., arriving at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue at 8:20 a.m. The evening bus leaves Manhattan at 5:40 p.m. and arrives in Bridgewater at 7 p.m.
