An Arbor Day Celebration was held Friday, April 17th, dedicating a planting of a Sugar Maple tree at the gazebo in Van Horne Park.
This was a special event since it was the first joint Montgomery/Rocky Hill Arbor Day Celebration planting in our shared Van Horne Park.
The tree that was planted was a “Bonfire” sugar maple (to match one previously planted on the other side of the gazebo).
Still to be planted there this spring: 3 redbuds to go along with the existing one already there.
There are plans between Montgomery and Rocky Hill to also add 4 dogwoods in this area of Van Horne Park in 2016.
