Retirement ‘Lunch & Learn’ at Montgomery Senior Center Fri. March 20Posted on March 16, 2015
Freeholder Brian D. Levine, human services liaison, invites residents nearing retirement to a Lunch and Learn opportunity at the Montgomery Senior Center, located at 356 Skillman Rd., on Friday, March 20.
The presentation will be led by Kevin Lynch, President of the Somerset County Chapter for The Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA). Kevin will explore the nuances of Social Security, including benefit eligibility, how to file for benefits and retirement planning strategies.
SOFA is a 501c3 nonprofit educational speaker’s bureau dedicated to the mission of combating financial illiteracy through financial education.
The program will begin with lunch at 12:30 p.m. Kevin Lynch will begin the presentation at 1 p.m. Advanced registration is required by Thursday, March 19. A suggested lunch donation for guests 60 and above is $2.00, and the cost of lunch for those under 60 is $6.99.

One of seven centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, the Senior Wellness Center is a multipurpose facility that offers a variety of educational, recreational and entertaining activities for active older adults, including wellness programs and health screenings. The center is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Somerset County senior centers offer a wide range of experiences designed for lifelong enrichment in a social and uplifting atmosphere, intended to positively impact overall health. Many of these programs are funded, in part, through the Older Americans Act.
