Library system is inviting patrons to donate along with staff
Somerset County Library System of New Jersey will be accepting donations for Somerset Regional Animal Shelter through Friday, December 11. Nine of SCLSNJ’s library branches — Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Manville, Mary Jacobs Memorial, North Plainfield Memorial, Peapack & Gladstone, Somerville, Warren Township, and Watchung — will serve as drop off locations for donations.
Suggested donations* include:
- Cat and kitten food (canned & dry);
- Dog food (canned & dry);
- Cat toys;
- Dog toys;
- Cat litter (non-clumping clay litter);
- Dog leashes;
- Dog collars;
- Martingale Training Dog Collars;
- Postage stamps;
- Paper towels;
- Laundry detergent; and
- Gift cards for any pet store, food store, Walmart, Target, or Agway.
*All donated items must be new.
“Somerset Regional Animal Shelter depends on volunteers and public donations,” said Edith Lit, a library assistant at SCLSNJ and coordinator of the donation collection. “This is our sixteenth year of fulfilling holiday wishes in our community. We always receive huge support from our staff and our patrons. We look forward to delivering another tremendous donation this year.”
