Join an exciting opportunity to participate in community science by exploring the biodiversity on The Watershed Reserve. Using the iNaturalist app on a smart phone, participants will document all forms of life on the Watershed Reserve as part of a Bioblitzsurvey .
Participants can invest as little or as much time as they want during this self-guided experience, exploring the trails on their own, photographing and recording organisms through this crowd-sourced identification app. Our Watershed staff will be available outside the Watershed Center from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on June 5 and June 6 to assist participants as needed. This event is free and open to all ages.
The purpose of the Bioblitz is to encourage people to embrace the wild world of biodiversity right here on The Watershed Reserve and to collect biological data about life on this property.
iNaturalist is a crowd-sourced identification system that records locational information about organisms. The app is also an online social network of people sharing biodiversity information, enhancing learning about the natural world.
