Montgomery FOS Farmers Market Announces Scavenger Hunt in Parks Sept. 22
How well do you know the local open spaces right here in Montgomery? Ever thought about exploring these open spaces? If you are curious or want to become better acquainted, we have a fun way to do just that!
Join Montgomery Friends of Open Space on Saturday, September 22 for a free “Get to Know Our Open Spaces” scavenger hunt. Search for hidden treasures and explore little-travelled parts or our parks. Find these park jewels, take a picture! Once back at the market, present the pictures to event staff, collect your prize!
Come alone, come as a group or family! Just come!
We will gather at the MFOS Farmer’s Market (1340 Rte 206, Village Shopping Center) next to the shed promptly at 9:30. All you need is a camera/cell phone with a camera and a desire to connect with our preserved open spaces. Directions, details and maps will be provided on the morning of the 22nd.
Prizes awarded upon completion of Scavenger Hunt requirements. Don’t forget to come early and shop the Market. Invigorate your hunt with a delicious infusion of coffee and a fresh-baked croissant. The Market has many wonderful things to offer!
FIRST DISCOVERY – Did you know that the farmer’s market is an initiative of the Montgomery Friends of Open Space, whose mission is to help preserve and protect open spaces in Montgomery? Proceeds from our table at the market support Open Space initiatives, such as development of the new Zion Crossing Park. Besides that, the more we can keep local farmers farming, the more we can keep land in agriculture, rather than new residential and commercial development.
Hope to see you Sept. 22 @ 9:30!
See you on September 22 at the Farmers Market!
