Branchburg, NJ — Employers and community residents are invited to attend the GRWDB Disabilities Employment Celebration and job fair being conducted from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Raritan Valley Community College’s Conference Center in Branchburg.

This free event is open to employers who have positions they need to fill and community members who are looking for jobs and information about services. The in-person event, allowing participants to connect and talk, is presented by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board Disabilities Committee (GRWDB) and Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC). The GRWDB and RVCC both serve Hunterdon and Somerset counties.

The first hour of the event will feature two live virtual presentations: “Helping Small Businesses Leverage the Talents of People with Disabilities,” presented by the Northeast Center for the ADA, followed by a presentation on services from the N.J. Division of Developmental Disabilities.

From 5 to 7 p.m., job seekers may talk with employer and agency representatives about jobs and services available to those with disabilities.

Employers with immediate job openings to be in attendance include Amazon, Goodwill NYNJ, Matheny, NJ Cannabis Certified, and Peapack-Gladstone Bank. In addition, Remetronix and Wegmans will participate virtually. In accordance with CDC recommendations, attendees must wear face coverings while on site and maintain six feet of social distancing. Capacity room limits will be maintained.

Community members who cannot attend the event in person will be able to listen to the presentations remotely; attendees also will be able to meet employers virtually as needed. Virtual attendance details will be available on the www.thegrwdb.org home page beginning Oct. 8.
