Birder's Hike June 2, 8 AM

Birder’s Hike June 2, 8 AM

Posted on May 27, 2019

The early birder gets the bird! Come out this Sunday for a short birding hike at our newest township park in the sourlands! Long-time birder and Audubon member Tamara Garaffa will lead the hunt for the sounds and sights of our avian friends along the beautiful Rock Brook (there’s a pretty little waterfall too!) Bring your binoculars and cameras. Parking is very limited and carpooling or biking is suggested. Light rain or shine but RSVP for weather cancellation.

RSVP strongly suggested so we have a head count and can let you know of any change or cancellation due to weather:

This walk begins early, but that is the best time to see the birds.  Interested children old enough for walking are welcome, accompanied by a parent. We meet in the small parking lot at Montgomery’s newest park, Zion Crossing.

From the south: Travel north on Hollow Road. Approximately 8/10ths of a mile past Grandview Road, look for an unmarked gravel driveway on your right and the 1st Sunday in the Park sign.  Go down the driveway and park in the lot.

From Zion Wertsville Road:  Travel south on Hollow Road.  Look for the unmarked gravel driveway on your left a short distance down.  Keep your eyes peeled for the 1st Sunday in the Park sign.  Go down the driveway and park in the lot.
Wear appropriate footwear.  Walk is over uneven paths and may be muddy.  In case of inclement weather, go to MontgomeryFriends.org for information.

A free 1st Sunday in the Park event sponsored by Montgomery Friends of Open Space (MFOS) MontgomeryFriends.org
