Assistant CFO/Deputy Tax Collector – The Township of Montgomery is accepting applications for the position of Assistant CFO/Deputy Tax Collector. Qualified candidate will assist in the performance of responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the financial activities of the Township; have knowledge and experience in local tax collection statutes, rules, regulations, and directives pertaining to municipal tax collection. Ability to perform technical work assisting the Tax Collector with billing, collection and reporting of property taxes in the township.

Knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing municipal finance practices and procedures
Good Judgement
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with subordinates
Maintain Acceptable Attendance
General knowledge of Accounting
General knowledge of Governmental Accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proficient in Microsoft Word

Required Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge in:
- Real property taxation
- MSI requisition system
- BRT
- Edmunds
Qualified applicants shall possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree with major work in Accounting or Business Administration, as well as NJ TC Collectors Certificate.
Additional Requirements:
Effective 9/1/11, all employees of State and local government must reside in the State of NJ, unless exempted.
Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License
Salary commensurate with experience.
