GOVERNOR APPROVES $5.375 MILLION GRANT FOR MONTGOMERY’S NEW LIBRARY

Governor Phil Murphy recently signed Assembly Bill 4942, which authorizes funding from the Library Construction Bond Act, including a $5.375 million grant for the new library in Montgomery Township.

The Murphy administration’s November 20 announcement quoted Montgomery Mayor Sadaf Jaffer: “Libraries have the power to transform communities. I thank Governor Murphy for his visionary leadership in supporting public libraries throughout New Jersey. The $5.375 million library bond awarded to Montgomery Township will be used toward creating a space where we can learn about our past and present, make connections among diverse neighbors, and find support in times of difficulty. This library is crucial to Montgomery Township’s future, and we greatly appreciate the investment in our community.”

The COVID-Safe Pledge asks residents and businesses to “Value the health of others as well as our own health as we go about our essential activities.” Specific commitments involve following public health rules on wearing masks, maintaining social distance, cooperating with contact tracing, and isolating and quarantining when necessary.
